I eat low carb, and I inline speed skate for fitness...?


I know that most people eating low-carb focus on strength training. Does anyone have tips on eating low-carb while exercising high-intensity, high endurance? Has anyone read "Paleo diet for athletes"? I take Potassium supps, and a multivitamin, and will be limiting my carbs to 60 per day.

I eat low carb, and I inline speed skate for fitness...what should I eat?
I know you eat low carbs (so do I), but there are a few natural carbs that don't spike your blood/sugar level and store as fat. They are absorbed slowly, and having a very good glycemic index diabetic people also eat them. They are:





Long Grain Brown Rice


Oatmeal


Sweet Potatoes and Yams





Eat a serving of one them before your workout (I also take a 250mg caffiene pill and a protein shake).

Reply:You are doing just fine. Low carb diets are actually better for endurance training than High carb diets do.





One thing you can do to help your cholesterol is taking in more oily fish like Salmon or Mackerel. Fish Oil capsules can help too if you don't like "fishy" fish.

A low carb diet for skating is like a race car driving on 87 octane fuel and water. Sooner or later you will hit the wall.

More importantly its about eating the right kind of carbs than limiting them.


Like carbs in yogurt and cottage cheese, fruits ans veggies are great whereas, processed foods are the killer!

Reply:The Paleo diet is a fancy name for back-to-nature. Trans fats have been banned in NYC. But they are in man made foods not foods made by nature or God. Site below explains how good carbs are the best thing for you. Bad carbs are horrible. But the bad ones are made by man. Your brain needs lots of carbs.
