Bicycling or inline skating?

Which of these is better fitness and exercise wise? and why?

I'm trying to decide which to buy.

Bicycling or inline skating?
I would say both have benefits... Skating may be a little better as it requires a little more in the way of stabilistation, however in cycling the movement is more constant, you can also ride almost anywhere whereas with skates you may be limited.

I would say that both are great and just buy the one that seems like the most fun to you becuase that will be the thing that you do more often and it will be more benficial to do 30mins a day of the things you enjoy than no minutes a day of the other because you think it sucks and is borring, exercise should be as fun as possible so you are motivated to do it.
Reply:That's funny because I love both, but I believe that in-line skating would be the better all around workout. You have to basically use all of your muscles to move, keep balance, start and stop. When you bike you're primarily using your legs. =)
Reply:I've never tried inline skating, but I ride a bike plenty. You'll get where you're going a lot faster on a bike. For exercise, though, the problem is that riding a bike is too easy. To get any good exercise you have to go dangerously fast. Running is much better exercise but my knees can't take it. I figure it's better to be cautious than to risk messing up my knees.
Reply:Cycling as it has greater long term appeal, whilst inline skating is a fad. You can also(depending on your bike)cycle further for commuting. There is less risk of injury with cycling and less time to learn how to use. The actual exercise itself is easier to tailor to your needs on a bike.

Hope I helped.
