Is inline skating (rollerblading) considered unpopular now?

When I was in high school, inline skating was all the rage. My friends and I used to skate nearly every day, and I became a great skater. It seems to have faded out though, and sometimes when I skate now I feel like a dumbass. Any ideas on way skate boarding has remained popular where inline skating has not? Maybe because boarding is more eXtreme?

Is inline skating (rollerblading) considered unpopular now?
I see people rolelrblading all the time, I use to agressive rollerblade all the time now my skates don't fit and I just stuck with skateboarding. The reason skateboarding is more popular is just the fact that it always was more popular and now there really isn't a place for agressive rollerblading anymore like there use to be. Blame the x-games :-P. But regular rollerblading is still around I see it all the time, lots of people like street hockey and you need some blades for that also. It's like bmx, I see kids riding bmx bikes all the time but never see any doing tricks *shrugs*.
Reply:Let's see if I get this straight. You like to skate and you are good at it but you think it has faded out some and I'll bet your friends don't skate anymore, either.I'd say the only reason you should feel like a dumbass is for not using your God-given talents and abilities.Keep skating, talent is popular.
Reply:Do you like it? If you do then rollerblade. Who cares what other people think? You know what you like.
Reply:well if i may think correctly .... there is more tricks you can do on a skate board ... so thats probally why its more popular ... but i see people at the skate park all the time on rollerblades ... so if your good keep going youll impress some one one day ... and maybe when it comes back in style people will love ya ...
