I want to start aggressive inline skating and have no idea about how to get started-can anyone help?

I am 15 and really want to get into aggressive inline skating but i don't know like what skates and stuff to buy as a beginner. Any other basic information would be great

Thank you for your comment! =)

How to get started...first, get some skates. If you have a skate shop near you that carries aggressive inline skates, you're in business. They're a great resource to get quality skates and to support your local shop. Some of the best manufacturers out there of aggressive skates are Razors, Rollerblade, USD and Remz. Razors and Rollerblade both have an "entry level" skate which is still great quality, just doesn't come with the pro-model frames and wheels...this will save you at least $100. Take a look at the Rollerblade Downtown and the Razors Cult. Both quality, comfortable skates.

Be sure to also get yourself some knee pads and wrist guards at least. You'll find that whether you fall forward or backward you're going to want to catch yourself with your hands. Wrist guards can be a life saver!

Now...getting started. Any local skateparks in your area or places you see kids who are already aggressive skating? Anywhere I've lived, we've always been happy to have someone new into the sport and love to teach. Ask them for help. If not, get comfortable on your skates and start learning to jump in your skates. Maybe find a curb somewhere to learn some of the basic grinds (frontsides are where you are balancing between the middle two wheels on each skate, feet shoulder width apart).

I have included some links below with more info on the sport and a link with some trick tips. And in case you don't have a shop near you, I've included some online stores that sell aggressive skates. These shops all employ people who are into the sport so call them and ask questions. They're almost always happy to help!

Good luck!
